Hey, I’m Emily (they/she)

My background:

I hold a Master’s of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy with a specialization in Sex Therapy from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling. I have systemic clinical training in sexual and relational concerns like sexual difficulties, trauma, desire/arousal differences within partnerships, gender and sexuality expression, nonmonogamous/polyamorous relationships, and pain during sex. I completed a year-long internship with M.E.T.A. Counseling Clinic where I received training in mindfulness, the treatment of trauma, anti-racism in counseling, supporting activists, and early childhood attachment. I worked with individuals and partnerships around a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, communication skills, sexual concerns, and trauma processing. At M.E.T.A., I co-facilitated a support group called PolyCurious focused on affirming and exploring the emotional attachment responses nonmonogamy can spur.

My identity:

I am a white, Queer/Poly human living and working in Portland, OR (occupied land of the Clackamas and Cowlitz). I am able-bodied navigating chronic pain. My experiences in queer and multi-partnered relationships have been both challenging and profoundly healing. I am passionate about working in my community, and celebrate the full spectrum of relationships - from monogamy to relationship anarchy. I help people find resonant relationship practices for their lives centered in equity, consent, and compassion. When I’m not in session, I enjoy connecting with my loved ones, eating good food, and being in nature.

I love doing this work and look forward to meeting you!

As an LMFT Registered Associate with the state of Oregon, I am required to have supervised clinical experience and am under the ongoing supervision of Alana Ogilvie, LMFT, CST and Deah Baird, N.D., LPC, CHT.
