philosophy

Our relationships with ourselves and others are powerfully impacted by our lived experiences: our families, cultures, communities, and oppressive systems like racism, patriarchy, capitalism, and fatphobia. I view all good therapy as a process towards embracing ourselves by noticing our internal worlds, promoting pleasure, dismantling shame, and bearing witness to our challenges and traumas. I work with individuals and partnerships to deepen authenticity, nurture inner wisdom, and heal past wounds.

Working from a stance that promotes social justice is integral to my practice. In my mission to be a trauma-conscious provider, I prioritize client consent and safety. I am a kink/BDSM, polyam-, LGBTQIA+ affirming, body-positive, and continually learning anti-racist care provider. I work to foster a space that centers you and your needs. I am always open to your feedback in our collaborative relationship.

I practice from an integrative standpoint, and have been trained in mindful, somatic (body-based) experiential modalities. I am informed by evidence-based models like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Attachment Theory. Therapy is a personally unique process; we will develop an approach that considers your individualized experiences. Together we will move at your pace and comfort level. I understand my role as your therapist to offer advocacy, insight, and caring support as you embark on your healing journey. Our work will cultivate compassion and awareness towards the Self, while creating space to sit with tough feelings and celebrate your natural strengths.

a compassionate mindful-somatic approach

Mindfulness is the act of noticing ourselves in real time without judgement.

I incorporate mindfulness in sessions as a tool to notice your inner experience, including physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts. What does that look like in session? We’ll spend time slowing down and carefully tracking how your body organizes and responds in the present moment. I may ask you to pause, bring your attention to your body, and verbalize what you notice.

Mindfulness allows us to return to now.
To check in with what’s real.
To be more embodied in ourselves.

Our bodies hold our stories. I trust your body to guide our therapeutic process. Each of our bodies possess immense wisdom that can support our healing journeys.

Whether you are new to mindfulness or a seasoned practitioner, the practice of noticing your present experience can enable long-lasting healing and change.
